How to cancel SDC
SDC's terms say recurring billing is switched on by default and it is your responsibility to cancel before the renewal date. You can cancel a paid subscription at any time in Account information on the site. App Store subscriptions are cancelled in your Apple Account at least 24 hours before the period ends.

Before you start
- Find out how you pay: directly on the site, or through Apple or Google Play. The route to cancel is different.
- Note the renewal date in your account and cancel before it.
- Keep the confirmation email or a screenshot, and check your bank statement after the next cycle.

Check how you paid
If you subscribed in the iPhone app, the charge comes from Apple. Otherwise you paid SDC on the website.

Website: open Account information
Sign in to sdc.com. The terms name 'Account information' as the place to cancel a paid subscription. We couldn't see the logged-in screens to confirm further labels.

App Store: cancel at least 24 hours early
The Irish App Store listing says the subscription renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. On iPhone go to Settings, your name, Subscriptions.

Keep proof
Save the confirmation email or a dated screenshot of your cancelled plan.

Check your statement, or email the helpdesk
Check your bank statement at the next billing date. The privacy policy says you can email helpdesk@sdc.com to cancel your account; use it if anything goes wrong.
Paid through Apple or Google?
If you subscribed in the SDC iPhone app, cancel in Settings, your name, Subscriptions, at least 24 hours before the period ends. For Android purchases, cancel in Google Play subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.

Cooling-off period and refunds
We found no 14-day right of withdrawal in SDC's terms, which say no refunds are given for overpayment caused by not cancelling in time. Note too that SDC's Irish App Store listing says the provider has not identified itself as a trader, and Apple's notice there says EEA consumer rights then do not apply to agreements between you and the provider.

Deleting your profile vs stopping payments
SDC's terms list deleting your account and cancelling your paid subscription as two separate options in Account information. Cancel the subscription first. The privacy policy says complete data deletion happens 7 days after you delete the account.
If it still charges you
Contact SDC's support with your confirmation and the date you cancelled. If you paid by card and can't get a response, talk to your bank or card provider about the payment. If you subscribed through Apple or Google, ask them for help from your purchase history.
